Having a bad day??? Throw something, that what we do around here...

The Boy isn't feeling well! He's got a runny nose and  last night a low grade fever. Poor thing.

This was last night, he was so stuffy and crabby I decided to give him a warm bath...it totally worked!

 I didn't take him to Ann's house on Friday cause i didn't  want him to get the other kids sick. She's ok with them coming as long as they re not throwing up but, I'm not. My schedule is pretty flexible so, unless I have to I'd rather keep him home with me. So this Friday will be his first trip to the babysitters. Here's a little about her...She's an older woman around 60ish, very grandmotherly. She was recommended to be by a lady from the First Steps program. Before we met her I asked one og the other mom's about her and she had all the right answers. Zeke and I spent about 2 hours with her and her husband before we made the decision to take him. I'm confident he'll be safe and she'll be good to him without spoiling him too much! I'm excited for him to play with other kids but, I'm going to miss him. I love out days together. It's only on Fridays right now though so I think I'll be ok! I did stop in on Wednesday last week to drop off diapers, wiped (check in) etc...She had 3 other kids there. A 2 year old and two older kids. The two year old was in the highchair eating Hershey kisses and M&M's....I'm not very cool with that. I think I'll stop and get some snacks to take over for him! In her defence it was just days after Halloween and one of the moms brought it for the kids. We'll see. I'll keep you posted.

He doesn't mind it at all in fact I think he enjoys it! He watches Mama and Daddy so now he gets to be in on the game too!

Of course we were wiping his teeth with a cloth for awhile now...kid sprouted teeth in the womb it seems like.

Well he's napping and I have some things I've got to get done...

Kye voted today. ;-)

So really quick, Kyes going to a babysitter on Friday. I'm sad. We decided it was time for him to hang out with other kids. He has such a good time and it'll be good for him. I'll post more later about it, I was just feeling the need to share...so I did.

Uh-Oh there's the evil! I knew it was in there somewhere...he is Zeke's child ya know. The sweetness is just a facade!

So I made the boys go to a Halloween party tonight. Can you tell they weren't super into it? Whatever, I'm the MOM.

We entered Kye into the costume contest...and guess what? He won!!

Oct 29 2010 OH I MISS HIM!

Kye went to spend a couple nights with Grandma and Grandpa at the lake. My house is soooo quiet! I sat on the couch and watched the news with a cup of coffee. It was nice, I admit but, I'm over it now. I miss him! ;-) O-well he's having a ball with Grandma and Grandpa so it's all worth it! I think maybe I'll use my free time to SHOP!!! YAY

Grandma and Grandma Byrd came and got him yesterday around 2-3ish and off they went. Kye just hung out talking to himself and playing for most of the trip. He's a pretty good passenger!

For dinner they took him to McDonald's...his first McD experience and he loved it! He ate all his burger and half his fries!

Yea, Mom's addicted to those fries too.

Here's a picture from my birthday. I love this picture! Grammy was picking up the Boy in front of the salon. It was such a nice day I thought I'd grab a picture or two. Aren't we cute!!!

Oh we went to Kye's NICU follow up appointment yesterday too. He's 19 pounds and 30 in long. I think we're going to start giving him Oveltine! He's ok but we'd love to see him gain some weight. Anyway,  this appointment is just to see how preemies progress. They do a series of tests to see where they are at cognitively and with their motor skills. He's not walking yet so that puts him a little behind, even for his adjusted age in the large motor skills area. His fine motor skills are fantastic and mentally he's right on cue! As soon as he starts to walk he'll jump right up the 'chart'. I have to say they were pretty impressed with his sign language skills! He got hungry while we were there and asked for a snack. How cool is he!!

"Wait...what? You knew? Ok so YOU didn't but, the rest of you kneeeeeew?!

Sippy cup try outs began on Saturday.

This transition is NOT much fun! We're still giving him a bottle at nap and bed time for the time being. Poor kids already stressed out enough...not to mention Ma and Pa! He's not liking the first sippy much. Daddys been giving the Boy drinks from a straw for awhile now and just the other day Kye got the hang of sucking on the straw to get the 'booty'. So far the second one has been the least traumatic!

----------------------------------------------------we took out the radio flyer today and stopped for a little bubble therapy. It worked for a little bit!

Ok I’m back for a split second. I spoke to the doctor about his wee hour howling habit. It could be night terrors, which I had when I was little or it could simply be a bad habit. He gave me a few tips on what to do in both cases, I’ll keep you updated.

Also, today Parker came over to share his first birthday with his BFF…

 Kye’s doing so many new things it’s hard to keep up! As most of you know, the construction in the basement is almost completed. MAYBE I’ll be able to update this blog more often!


Well, I’ve gathered some pictures from the past month or so. They’re pictures I wanted to share but, haven’t found the time to post them. Kye’s sleeping right now and honestly I could use a nap but I’ll sacrifice, for you. ;-)

This is how we relax in the LOU, baby! It was a nice day but, we didn't want to leave our couch sooo problem solved! ha ha ok thats a nice story but not really.;-)

Our little love is really starting to communicate with signs and talking, mostly signs. Have I mentioned how happy I am we did this? The other day, Daddy was doing work in the basement while Kye played in a room near by. He was getting fussy and Dad had no idea what the problem could be, he had on a dry diaper, he ate not long ago, had some juice, etc. Well after some time Zeke realized Kye was pointing at his mouth. The sign for eat is when you bring ALL your fingers together and put them to your mouth so, Dad didn’t recognize it at first. He decided to try it and yep that was it! Kye got Dads attention and said FEED ME! It’s great! Oh the words that he’s saying are Mama, Dada, juice, ball and dog. Not in that order. To be honest, we’re not real sure about Mama and Dada, dog is for sure his first and favorite word, ball is a close second. Juice is just necessary.



He’s also starting to point out pictures when asked, like for example; find the birdie. I’ve noticed, while reading to him, when I make a sound an animal would make (or rather my terrible rendition) Kye try’s too!


Our First Steps educator brought over an assessment form for Kye. It’s nothing official, it’s just a fun way to take a look at how a baby is growing and learning. It shows how far they’ve come and maybe some things they may need to work on. Guess what? He’s in his own age group!!! We did one for his adjusted age and he scored off the chart so we did one for his actual age and he’s right in the middle! My smart kiddo!! He’s a little ‘behind’, and I use that word loosely, in his gross motor skills. That’s ONLY because he’s not walking yet. Which he will be doing soon enough!
Another new thing is waking up in the middle of the night screaming bloody murder. He wasn't feeling great when this started so I'd fix him a bottle and rock him back to sleep. Now he's hard to get back into his bed. He'll drink all his bottle and just want me to hold him, the other night I was up for almost 2 hours! Every time I'd go to lay him down he'd scream at the top of his lungs. It's so unlike him. I just put a call into the doctor for some advice so, we'll see.

Oh boy is it difficult to function when you've got a cold...and so does your babies. Yes both of them. UGH!!!!!!! So here are a few quick picks.
